almost (adverb) LISTEN
Almost means ‘very nearly.’
- The golfer almost got a hole in one.
- After the 50 percent discount, Michelle paid almost nothing for the dress.
- Judah is almost 3 years old.
Almost there means ‘nearly arriving at a location.’ Example: “After driving for hours, Andrea told her children, ‘We’re almost there.'” But almost there can also mean ‘nearly reaching a life goal.’ Sing along with this Disney song “Almost There.”
