If something or someone is odd, it means that they are strange or unusual.
- His hair is a very odd color.
If something is odd, it can mean that it doesn’t happen all the time. For example, an odd job is a small job that you do once.
- I prefer to do odd jobs because I don't want to work all the time.
We can also use the word odd when there should be two of something, but there is only one.
- An odd sock! Where's the other one?
An odd number is a number that ends in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9.
- 135 is an odd number.
If we think that something is very strange, we can say, “How odd!” For example, “I’m sure I left my keys on the table, but now I can’t find them. How odd!”

Oddjob is a character in the James Bond film Goldfinger. He’s famous for throwing his hat like a weapon. In this video from the film, Oddjob shows Bond how he can throw his hat.
