If there is enough of something, it means that you have what you need to do something.

• Do we have enough eggs to make a cake?

If you do something enough, it means that you do it for as long as you need to do it or should do it.

• I've studied enough for tonight.

Enough can also mean that you should stop doing something, often because someone doesn’t like it.

• That's enough politics now, please. Can we talk about something else?

Common uses

When we want something to stop because it is annoying or unpleasant, we often say that we have had enough. For example, “I’ve had enough of this loud music. I’m going home.”

In pop culture

You can say that you can’t get enough of something if you really like it. You can hear this in the Depeche Mode song “Just Can’t Get Enough,” which is about being in love–and not being able to get enough of a person you love.
