Common uses
When we want to say that we understood what someone said, we sometimes say that we heard them loud and clear. We usually do this when someone is telling us to do something and we don’t like it. For example, “I want you to do your homework before you watch TV. Do you hear me, Chris?” “Yes, I hear you. Loud and clear!”
In pop culture
Do you know the song “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran? It’s about love and wanting to be with someone forever. When Ed Sheeran says, “I’m thinking out loud,” it means that he’s thinking of something and then saying it straight away to the other person.
