Miracle means ‘a supernatural or divine event.’

  • The saint performed many miracles.
  • The miracle of Hanukkah was that there was only enough oil to light the lamp for one day, but it lasted for eight days.

Miracle also means ‘an extraordinary example of something.’

  • It's a miracle that the pilot landed the plane in the snowstorm.
  • If I pass this test, it will be a miracle!

Common uses
