A craving is a strong desire or yearning.
- The politician had a craving for power.
- The vegan was disturbed by his craving for steak.
- Sue has a craving for a cigarette every morning.
Craving is also the present participle of the verb crave (to long for). Example: “The baby is craving for her mother’s affection.”
